  1. DMT the Gateway to our dreams Worlds strongest hallucinogenic Widely distributed throughout nature Unknown function in the human CNS Never found outside of animals or plants

  2. The modern discovery of DMT • First found in nature by Gonçalves de Lima • First found in Mimosa roots • Found in unpure form purified by american chemists a few years later • First synthesized by Richard Manske • Found to exist in plants years later

  3. Natural occurrence • Has been found in 3 mammalian species • Also found in over 50 plant species • Human rat and rabbit were the only tested • Most found in CNS fluid (100370 ng/l) • Most likely functional in the CNS because of its high concentration • Just as in animals its existence in plants is unexplained

  4. Possible function in humans • Active mostly at night in the presence of Serotonin • Might also be active during daylight hours • Our dreams seem surreal just as the effects of hallucinogenic drugs • DMT experiences are also hard to remember • Dreaming is very similar to DMT effects as proved in studies

  5. Reality as we see it might just be a controlled hallucination • Dreams are a central part of our lives yet lack research • Dreams are quickly forgotten • Dreams are a vital part of imagination • Cyclic carbon was first thought of in a dream • Dreams might be so surreal because they are a reality we cant understand • NDE may also be explained by DMT

  6. In conclusion • To reach our potential we need to imagine more • To focus our imagination we must first understand its mechanics. • Impending technological singularity • Only our creativity can stop us from becoming obsolete • Only through improving the human mind can we continue on the uptrend and reach perfection
