Day 1 to Week 12 - Interventions • Dedicated teams providing named adviser support from day 2 of their claim • The offer of an additional 1 hours adviser support in the first 13 weeks • Quality Jobsearch Reviews • Immediate flexible adviser support up to 30 mins (‘Extra PA Support’)
BYB – Work Trials • Available from day 1 of JSA claim at adviser discretion. • Customers aged 18 to 24 with less than 6 months post education work experience • BYB pilot marker must be set when agreed by adviser.
BYB - Mentoring • JSA customers 18 – 24 from Day 1 of JSA claim • Voluntary • Up to 6 months • Additional to any other provision • Customers remain on JSA and conditionality still applies • New opportunity type ‘BYB – Mentoring’ • Available from 29/1/10
BYB – Work Experience • JSA customers 18 – 24 from Day 1 of JSA claim until required to join NDYP • Voluntary • Two week work placement • Remains in receipt of JSA – continues to sign & attend interviews • New Opportunity type ‘BYB – Work Experience’ • Available from 29/1/10

The Young Person’s Guarantee • A guaranteed offer of a job, training or work experience lasting at least 13 weeks to every eligible customer from 25 January 2010 • The guarantee must be made before the end of month 10 or before week 50 if a stock customer • Participation is voluntary until 26 April 2010 • Customers who fail to accept an offer by then will be mandated to Community Task Force
Prioritising the Guarantee • Unsubsidised Job – All areas - jobs in the open market including self employment • Subsidised Job (other than FJF) - Recruitment Subsidy jobs - Routes Into Work (including PET) Training - Graduate / Non-Graduate Internships • Future Jobs Fund • New Deal Option
Future Jobs Fund • 120,000 jobs created nationally for young people and 50,000 in areas of high unemployment • 6 months, minimum 25 hours per week • Up to £6,500 available to the employer per job • JSA customers 18-24 on New Deal Gateway. • Disadvantaged areas – customers claiming out of work benefits (ESA, IB, IS) for at least 39 weeks who live in designated post code areas.
Routes Into Work • Provides young people job opportunities within specified employment sectors. • Immediate job opportunity • Care First Careers job opportunity • A Work Trial linked to a job opportunity • A pre-employment training programme linked to current vacancies in our key sectors • JSA customers 18-24 on New Deal Gateway.
Routes Into Work – New Sectors - Facilities Management - Security - Health - Food and Drink Manufacturing - Energy and Utility (including green jobs) - Contact Centre - Agriculture - Manufacturing - Construction - Logistics - Cultural and Creative
Non – Graduate Internships • Non-Graduate JSA customers 18-24 on New Deal Gateway • Up to 13 week placement supported by training allowance • Voluntary • Eligibility ends once mandated to ND Option. • Referred via new opportunity type ‘BYB – Non Grad Internship’
BYB – Graduate Internships • Graduate JSA customers 18-24 on New Deal Gateway until mandated to ND Option. • JSA Customers aged 25+ eligible for the 6 month offer. • Graduated summer 2009. • Up to 13 week placement supported by training allowance • New opportunity type ‘BYB – Graduate Internship’
