NDC and NAP Linkages in Kenya • NDC encompasses both adaptation and mitigation • Nap forms the adaptation sections of the NDC • Kenya using the same implementation tool ie National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP), which is a five year rolling plan to implement both NDC and NAPs which have timelines going up to 2030 • Kenya has synchronized timeframe for implementation of the NDC and NAP through the NCCAP process • Same institution coordinates implementation of the two documents

  3. Inclusive and participatory process involving same stakeholders in the development of the two documents • Linking NDC and NAP to National Development blue prints, SDGs, DRR through the NCCAP • There is a link with other development planning processes like vision 2030, DRR and SDG which are linked through the NCCAP • There is a formal and deliberate effort to link the two documents
