  1. Organized by • - Center for Arthropod Bioresources and Biotechnology • Department of Zoology, University of Kerala & • Association for Advancement of Entomology Kick-off Colloquium on Nanoscale Science and Arthropod Bioresources CNSAB 2006 December 18 & 19, 2006 at University of Kerala, Trivandrum, India Scope of the Meeting This two day Indo-Japan meeting is an open forum where experts in both Nanoscale Science and Arthropod Biology discuss the importance of Nanoscale Science in research and education. Looking problems at nanoscale is a unique approach to unravel mysteries underlying material science to life science. Also, arthropods are excellent model systems where problems in nanoscale materials and biomolecules can be combined. The meeting envisions exploitation of tremendous possibilities in nanoscale science and extrapolation in to a multidisciplinary branch of science. Invited Lectures Govindan Bhaskaran, Ex-Chairman, Biology Department, Texas A & M University, USA ‘Insect Endocrine Bioresources’ Mitsuru Ishikawa,National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan ‘Bioanalysis in nanoscale science’ Seiji Tanaka,National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS), Japan ‘Locust phase polyphenism and its hormonal control’ Takashi Okuda,National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS), Japan ‘Latent life: anhydrobiosis in the African chironomid’ Vasudevan P.
