Aim Of The Association“Formed on the 1st April 2001, the aim of the Association is to facilitate the Air Force Board's objective of affording Servicemen and women, regardless of rank or trade, the opportunity of learning to fly at the lowest cost”.   3. CPFC operates as a non-profit making Ltd Company in order to protect unit Cosford from liability issues.

  4. CPFC Operate 3 x Piper Aircraft (PA 28s)

  5. Air Experience Flights for Trainees. (Funded by Members) • Often Trainees who return as FTs continue flying with CPFC

  6. Private Pilots Licence. • Instrument Rating. • Night Rating (flown out of Wolverhampton). • Enhanced Learning Credits Registered Facility. Training Provided

  7. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) PPL(A) SYLLABUS AIM • The aim of the PPL(A) course is to train the student pilot to fly safely and efficiently under Visual Flight Rules, approximately 45 hours of practical flying. • THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE INSTRUCTION (examinations) • Air Law. • Aircraft General Knowledge. • Flight Performance and Planning. • Human Performance and Limitations. • Meteorology. • Navigation. • Operational Procedures. • Principles of Flight and Communication. Private Pilots Licence Training

  8. 15 hours dual flying with a qualified instrument instructor that will cover subjects such as: • Instrument appreciation. • Unusual attitude recoveries. • Instrument holds. • A minimum of two different instrument approaches. • VOR/NDB tracking. • Ground exam. • Flight Test. Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) rating

  9. Cosford Powered Flying Club • Provides a valuable Tri-Service club ethos in a flying enriched environment. • Service / Veteran / Civilian membership. • Normal operations Wednesday – Sunday. • Aircraft Maintenance carried out by the Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) approved engineering facility at Sleap.
