  3. Earth’s Moon • The moon takes about 27 days, 7 hours, 43 minutes, and 11.6 seconds to orbit the Earth. • Earth’s moon creates the waves that surfers ride. • Among the craters of the moon, mountain peaks rise up to 13,000 ft. high. • The Romans named their moon Luna.

  4. Mars’Moon: Phobos Phobos • Phobos was named after the attendant of the Roman god Mars (Ares).

  5. Jupiter’sMoon: Callisto • Callisto is the least dense of the four moons of Jupiter. • It’s texture is between ice and rock. • Callisto is very heavily cratered.

  6. Saturn’sMoon: Titan • Saturn’s moon Titan may be it’s most famous moon. • Titan is very similar to our moon, except for the name. • Titan orbits just around the rings outside of Saturn.

  7. Pluto’sMoon: Hydra • Pluto’s moon Hydra is the brightest moon of Pluto. • Hydra may have been named after the Greek creature. • Hydra is the farthest away from Pluto. • Hydra is the most rocky of all the moons of Pluto.
