  1. This is my library:The Cascades Public Library

  2. This is my library – A personal tour in print The purpose of this book is to help pre-teach what the structure and routine of a library experience will be like. With this book, individuals will gain a visual familiarity of their own library so that they can feel comfortable during their visits, be able to use the services, and interact appropriately.

  3. This is my library card. This is what we use to check out items from the library. All items are free with a library card. But, they need to be returned on time so we do not collect fines. Wow, I can keep my library items for 2 weeks before I return them!

  4. Come on in! These are the sliding doors I see before I enter my library. They open for everyone who wants to visit the library.

  5. Bringing books back? There are 2 holes in the side of this desk. You can put your items that you are bringing back to the library in here. Thank you for returning your books! We share at the library.

  6. Movies and Music The library has many DVDs and music CDs for me and my family. They are located right at the front of the library.

  7. The Reference Desk The Adult Department librarians work at this desk. They answer questions people have who visit the library.

  8. Let’s visit the Children’s Department I need to take a short walk toward the back of the library to get to the Children’s Department. There are many things to see in this area and many books to choose from.

  9. Library staff are here to help me. This is the desk in the Children’s Department where the Youth Services librarians sit. They can help me find what I need and answer any questions I have about the library.

  10. This is the children’s restroom and the 2 water fountains.

  11. A computer to look up what I want. I can use one of these computers to look up what I want. I can look for books, movies, magazines, and more. The librarian can help if I need it.

  12. More computers My library also has computers that I can play fun games on. We take turns with other boys and girls at the library.

  13. The Story Room This is the wonderful Story Room. The librarians read stories, play music, sing songs, and even use puppets in this room.

  14. I share my library I share my library with other families in my community. I will do my best to respect other people while I am in the library. I will also respect the items I borrow from my library so that other boys and girls can use them after me.

  15. Time to check out my items I can choose to check them out myself at the Self Check-out machines. Or I can choose to have the helpful people at the Check-Out desk help me. My library items are due back in 2 weeks!

  16. Goodbye I liked visiting my library. I will come back again soon!

  17. Here are some other things I might see at the library. I will look for them when I visit my library! I spy baskets to put my library items in. I spy a funny frog picture. I spy a globe. I spy 2 drink machines. I spy bookshelves with cool shapes on them.
