Desig n Process For Wireless Ear buds

This document outlines the design process for wireless earbuds focusing on eliminating wire tangling issues, which can lead to kinks, knots, and damage. Gerhard Decker and Jake Tischler discuss their evaluations of consumer preferences, considering top companies like Apple, Sony, and Microsoft. The team employed a design matrix to assess various criteria, ultimately selecting a design that meets consumer needs effectively. Although the prototype is not yet built for testing, this guide provides valuable insights into the design steps undertaken.

  1. Design Process For Wireless Ear buds Gerhard Decker Jake Tischler P.O.E. 2A

  2. Step 1 • Problem statement- Ear bud wires can get tangled, causing kinks in the wires, knots, and potentially torn wires.

  3. Step 2 and 3 Jake and I came up with what we considered, acceptable to our customers. Companies that were considered: Apple , Sony , and Microsoft

  4. Steps 4-6 As we put in the slide on steps 2-3, we considered our criteria and constraints. So we selected our approach.

  5. Design Matrix

  6. As you see, Design 2 made the cut for the criteria we needed to get the most consumer needs for purchase.

  7. Steps 7-8 Posting our Design

  8. Steps 9-12 It’s pretty self-explanatory we can’t test our design since we don’t have a hard-made prototype to test with, so congrats.
