  5. 2011 Publications Quality • NEMA committed to Z535 Executive Committee to arrange a third-party investigation of the publication quality issues and recommendations for improvement • Search for investigator was challenging – needed someone neutral who had a standards background, but with a process emphasis • Megan Hayes was appointed as investigator • Program Manager at NEMA, but with no ties to Z535 • Chair of ANSI’s Board of Standards Review (BSR) • Experienced in dealing with committee operational issues • Interviewed Z535 officers and NEMA staff for the various perspectives • Findings summarized in a written report, including a set of recommendations for improvement ANSI Z535 - Baltimore, MD
