  5. CSI Teamwork • Police usually the 1st to arrive • Secure the scene and provide first aid to anyone who needs it • CSI record details about the crime scene and collect physical evidence

  6. Teamwork Con’t • CSI may include: • Photographers • Sketch artists • Evidence collectors And when needed: • Medical examiners • District attorneys • Entomologists • Odontologists • Pathologists • Anthropologists

  7. Teamwork Con’t • Evidence collected at the scene is sent to the crime lab for analysis • Forensic scientists specialize in fields such as: • Chemistry • Biology • Toxicology • Pathology • Firearms

  9. Overall view • The crime-scene investigation team must work together in order to properly gather and analysis evidence • Proper training is essential for experts in the field as well as in the lab to reduce the risk of errors
