  2. Four Federal Crime Labs • FBI – crimes against the US (such as terrorism, interstate kidnapping) • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) – drugs seized in violation of federal laws (production, sale, transportation) • US Postal Inspection Service (USPS) – mail crimes (Anthrax scare of 2001)

  3. Four Federal Crime Labs • Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BATF) – analyzes alcoholic beverages & documents relating to tax law enforcement; examine weapons, explosive devices & related evidence • Gun Control Act of 1968 • Organized Crime Control Act of 1970
