  1. Winter 2014 Initiatives • Logo Contest • New Members • Site Visit • Habitat for Humanity • Certificate Ceremony McMaster heavy Construction student chapter

Logo Contest • Design a logo for the McMaster Heavy Construction Student Chapter • Winning design will be printed onto hard-hat stickers which will be distributed to students at the end of the year Certificate Ceremony • Contest open to all years of civil students, electronic submission of .jpg due before Friday February 14th, 2014.

  3. New Members • We are currently looking to expand our student chapter for the 2014-2015 academic term. • The following positions will be open: • Second-Year Rep • Third-Year Rep • VP of Finance • Director of External Affairs • More details to be announced, please contact us for more information

  4. Wilson Hall Site Visit • Coordinating with the Project Director of the Wilson Hall construction project • Preparing for a site tour for a group of 15 to 20 students in early February • Tentative date of site visit: Friday February 5th, 2014Sign-up details to be announcedPersonal Protective Equipment is mandatory

  5. Habitat for humanity • Habitat for Humanity Session is being organized in coordination with the Habitat for Humanity McMaster Chapter • $20 donation required from each participant • Session will be scheduled on a Saturday afternoon in March – more details will be provided once the schedule is finalized

  6. Certificate ceremony and new member social • Hand out of Heavy Construction Certificates to graduating students • Introduction of 2014-2015 Student Chapter • Refreshments will be served • Date will be announced, weeknight evening in March (6 – 8 PM)

  7. Heavy construction Certificates • To be eligible for the certificate upon: • 8 – 12 months heavy construction work experience • Completion of CIV ENG 3RR3 and CIV ENG 4CM4  • Also: • Fill out the HC Registration FormSubmit your Profile Page for Industry Exposure • Fill out the HC Certificate Eligibility FormFor more details contact the student chapter, Louise Gazzola at ECCS, or visit:http://www.eng.mcmaster.ca/eccs/Coopstudents/HC.html
