  1. Settling Abroad Services Everyone seems to want to go to the united States or any country like australia,england,newzealand and others. The United States,england and australia is in fact the most popular educational destination for students from all over the world. There are valid reasons for this. Within the United States,australia and england there are a number of outstanding institutions from which you can choose from. The US and australia is the top choice for international students and enjoys over 60% applications from the total number of students applying to study abroad. However, before you start applying it is imperative to research on the universities that you plan to apply to. Each school is different and it is important finding the school where you will fit in and feel comfortable. It is also important to have reliable information about various schools. Students are attracted to the: • Quality of the university facilities & the Education system • Ranking & Accreditation of the university • Global Recognition • Availability of Financial Assistance • Accessible job market for international students • English speaking environment The time taken to earn an undergraduate or a Bachelor’s degree in the US is four years. Graduate schools in the US usually require 16 years of education i.e. 4 years of undergraduate college after the 12th grade. Work while studying: A student is allowed to work 20 hours per week on campus while studying and can earn enough money to cover your personal expenses. Don’t, however, expect to pay for your tuition or living expenses through on campus employment. Standardised Tests Required Standardized tests are an important part of the admissions process. All freshman applicants are generally required to submit SAT or ACT test results. To register for these exams please visit http://www.collegeboard.com and http://www.actstudent.org The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is the entrance test to be taken by students applying for a Master’s degree in any field other than Management. All applicants applying for a Master’s in Management or Business Administration major must submit the results of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).   2. In addition to these tests, all students whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). To register for the TOEFL please visit http://www.toefl.org Visa Procedure To apply for a student visa, you must first be accepted for admission by an accredited school in the United States. When a college or university accepts you, they will send you a completed I-20 form and an acceptance letter. The Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) program requires schools and exchange programs to verify the enrollment status of all continuing and new foreign students and exchange visitors. And your student visa cannot be issued until your SEVIS fee of $100 has been paid. An applicant is entitled to apply for a student Visa not earlier than 120 days before the registration date specified on the FORM I-20. You must apply for a visa in person at the US Consulate in your country. You can apply for a student visa no earlier than 90 days before you report to school in the United States (Many consulates, however, will process your application prior to 90 days. Check with your local consulate for more information). How to apply You should take with you the following documents in order to apply for a student visa (some of these documents will vary from consulate to consulate). 1. A receipt for the nonrefundable application fee paid in local currency at the current exchange rate. For up-to-date payment instructions, please contact your local US consulate. 2. A completed visa application form DS-156 . Students should also fill form DS – 157 & DS – 158 with the original I-20 issued by the university. 3. To provide evidence of income sources. You must prove that funds are immediately available to cover the first year’s costs, and show evidence that funds will be available for all subsequent years. 4. A valid passport. 5. School and college transcripts & standardized test score sheets. 6. Photograph: One black and white or color photograph taken on a white background (size = 2 inches x 2 inches or 5cm. X 5 cm.) Photographs should be no more than six months old. Instant photos are not accepted
