  2. Human Rights and Economy There is a growing understanding both inside and outside the WBG that Human Rights integration leads to stronger economic performance.

  3. Human Rights and Economy Promoting human development also promotes Human Rights. Human Rights are an integral part of sustainable development.

  4. Human Rights and Economy Governments, development institutions, and companies should try to prevent Human Rights.

  5. Human Rights and Economy Many of the WBG’s activities promote rights explicitly or implicitly, nevertheless, THE WBG’S INTEGRATION REMAINS LOW.

  6. Human Rights and Economy 1944: Bretton Woods Conference 1948: The UN Declaration on Human Rights 1998: Development on H.R.: the role of the world of the World Bank 1999: Comprehensive Development Framework

  7. Human Rights and Economy 2000: The UN Millenium Development Goals/ WBG: Voices of poor 2006: OECD:Integrating H.R. into development: donor approaches, experience and challenges 2008: The UN Business and H.R. Framework

  8. Human Rights and Economy By 2015: to achieve a medium level of integration on Human Rights. After 2015: to adopt an institution strategy for Human Rights integration.

  9. Human Rights and Economy Many gaps leave the WBG exposed to Human Rights risks. The WBG adopts eight – time bound goals for integrating Human Rights into its operations.

  10. Human Rights and Economy Improving H.R. standards can create a predictable business environemnt and attract private investment, ENHANCING THE WBG’S ABITILY TO RESPOND TO GLOBAL CRISES.
