  21. OUR GROUP PROCESS

  22. FORMING Group starts it identity, and members focus on what and when will be done, avoiding conflict. Group Dynamic: Forming for us went quickly. We met at our first class weekend, where we quickly established who we were and ideas about the project began to surface.

  23. STORMING The group begins to focus on the problem to be solved and real conflict regarding leadership and ideas emerge. This stage can pass quickly or resurface. GROUP DYNAMIC: Group meshed very quickly, main source of conflict was external (using the technology correctly) We discovered that two of our group members had similar learning styles and one dissimilar. We quickly addressed how we liked to participate and got permission from each member. During this stage we had to choose the type of library we would use, navigate technology to work together remotely, and had to find a way to distribute work evenly.

  24. Norming Groups will begin to stabilize, trust is build and members may start to stagnate if they avoid dissent at this time. Group Dynamic: Our group normalized quickly, and though each new decision brought the opportunity for reverting to ''storming'', our group resolved issues very quickly.

  25. Performing The team members are now competent, autonomous and able to handle the decision-making process without supervision. Dissent is expected and allowed as long as it is channeled through means acceptable to the team. Group Dynamics: Our group shifted in and out of the performing stage, especially when we met in person because we were hesitant about being too independent and hurting each others feelings.
