  2. Main Characters! Sara Black- The new girl at Anton High. She tells a few black lies, including who her real father is, where she lives, where she lived before she moved and what her parents careers are. Sara tells these lies because she wants to fit in with the popular group. Charlie Black- Sara’s father. He has OCD, especially when it comes to cleaning. He loves old-fashioned cars. Carling Burnack- The head of the Carlingette’s, the popular group at Anton. She’s the rich girl that will do anything to get her way.

  3. Another Main Character! Leo Reiser- Dates Carling and then dumps her when she almost gets hit by subway. Fixes cars for fun.

  4. Setting! The story takes place in Boston, U.S.A. The main spots in the story are: Anton High School, the Black’s apartment above the hardware store, and the Burnack’s mansion.

  5. Summary! • When Sara’s parents get divorced, and her mother marries her math teacher, Sara’s dad decides its time to move. He gets a job at Anton High, the best school in the state. Sara doesn’t have to apply because her dads the janitor. On her first day of school, Sara meets a girl named Poppy. They become friends, but, then Carling shows interest in Sara. She invites Sara over, along with Isabella and Sloane (other members of the Carlingettes.) The popular girls ask her questions about her life. Sara tells them she lived in Lundon before she moved. The other girls misunderstand her and think she is from London, England. Not wanting to disappoint them, she doesn’t tell them otherwise. So what's the harm in a few more lies? Nothing, to Sara. Isabella finds out about the lies and blackmails her. Then, Charlie’s VW bus stops working, they have to go shopping for a new one. They end up going to the Reiser’s, and then Leo finds out the truth! Sara’s life is officially over!! She decides she should just tell everyone the truth, and the only one who forgives her is Leo. Suddenly, Sara’s life turns around! She starts dating Leo, and her dad gets a job in New York City. She leaves Boston and Leo comes along with her to New York!

  6. Conflict! • Sara tells lots of lies and a member of the Carlingettes finds out. She blackmails Sara into doing things that could get her expelled from Anton. Coming clean will mean getting kicked out of the Carlingettes!

  7. Resolution! • Sara realizes that family is more important than being popular, and that eventually the other Carlingettes would have found out. She comes clean and tells everyone about her real life.

  8. Interesting Facts! • Sara’s mother is a chef in Paris. • Sara’s best friend lives back in Lundon. • When Leo was younger, his friend and him thought it would be cool to blow up nail polish. Now Leo has scars all over his chest and his friend is blind. • Charlie becomes friends with Carling’s limo driver. • Sara has the best marks in all her classes. • Sara always has lots of homework and never has time to sleep, except on weekends. • Since the school is called Anton High. Each chapter has facts about ants.
