  3. Objective • By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify parts of a circle. • Standard 4MG3.2 - Students will identify the radius and diameter of a circle.

  4. Introduce • In a moment, I am going to ask that the class make a circle on the tile, like we do for Morning Meeting. • Before we go over there, does anyone know any part of a circle?

  5. Teach • A circle is a plain figure in which all points are the same distance from a point called a center.

  6. F G FG is the radius Radius • A line segment that connects the center of a circle to a point on the circle is a radius.

  7. C D CD is the diameter Diameter • A line segment that connects two points on a circle and goes through the center of a circle is a diameter.
