  2. What is Aircraft Performance? • Performance is the capability of aircraft at various stages of its flight. • The capability may be in terms of weight, altitude, speed, distances, gradient/rate of climb, obstacle clearance etc.

  3. Some Facts: • The optimum performance of an aircraft is decreased when there is an increase in altitude or temperature. • High humidity reduces available air for combustion, which leads to enriched mixture and eventually, reduced power.

  4. Effect of Temperature: Any increase in temperature or altitude means a decrease in the aircraft's optimum performance.

  5. Effect of Humidity • High humidity has an effect on engine power. • The high level of water vapor in the air reduces the amount of air available for combustion and results in an enriched mixture and reduced power
