  1. A L L A V O L O D I N A B L O G STICKING WITH STUDENTS Responding Effectively to Incorrect Answers

  2. Responding Effectively to Incorrect Answers Sometimes, the wrong answer gives an insight into what the student or learner is thinking but sometimes it can create a mess too. So when there are definite right and wrong answers, it's important that instructors provide clear feedback on student responses so that the class knows which answers are right, which are wrong, and which are somewhere in between. Of course, you also want to communicate that the student's answer is appreciated, and maintain a safe space for students to contribute answers in the future.

  3. Ways To Respond To Wrong Answers You can ask the student that how he/she arrived at that answer, so you can know the origin of that answer. You can tell them that you haven't heard of this response before and ask them to tell more. It could also be very encouraging. You can give the student a hint that he/she is on the right track but not exactly. It can motivate them and they will try a little bit harder.

  4. Contd.. You can also give them a clue like take them to the right path but not quite on it. Let them try hard to get the exact solution. If there is a group to whom you have to answer, you can simply thank them for their try even not listening to them and revealing the answer. Read more at www.scoop.it/u/allavolodina
