The Best Beginnings Midwives team in Greenwich Borough employs a community-based, preventative model targeting vulnerable women. By focusing on antenatal, labor, and postnatal support, they address health inequalities effectively. Since their inception, they've tackled issues like mental health, domestic violence, and teenage pregnancies, resulting in improved outcomes for mothers and babies. The team’s collaborative approach, involving multiple agencies, has led to higher breastfeeding rates and reduced hospital admissions. Their dedication earned them the 2009 Inclusive Service Award for disadvantaged communities.
