  4. What is a vision statement? It is a statement that spells out the goals of the company in terms of growth, values, employees, contributions to society, and the like.

  5. Example: Coal India Limited “To emerge from the position of domestic leader to leading global player in the energy sector by adopting best practices from mine to market with due care to environmental and social sustenance.

  6. What is a mission statement? It is a statement of the purpose of a company or organization. It is a simple statement of the company’s reason for being. The mission statement should guide the actions of the organization, spell out its over-all goal, provide a path, and guide decision-making. It answers the questions: What do we do? How do we do it? For whom do we do it? (Refer to Wikipedia for more info.)

  7. Example: McDonalds “To provide the fast food customer food prepared in the same high-quality manner world-wide that is tasty, reasonably-priced and delivered consistently in a low-key décor and friendly atmosphere.”
