  3. Gullible (adj): easily deceived or cheated • N: gullibility • Adv: gullibly

  4. Subside (v): to become quiet or less active; to sink to a lower level • N: subsidence

  5. Rebuke (v): to express sharp disapproval; reprimand • (n): stern disapproval • Adj: rebuking • Adv: rebukingly

  6. Abet (v): to encourage, support, or help, usually in wrongdoing • N: abettal

  7. Discern (v): to perceive by sight or by intellect; to recognize; to distinguish mentally • Adj: discerning • Adv: discerningly • N: discernment

  8. Pungent (adj): sharp, acute, especially in taste or smell; caustic • Adv: pungently • N: pungency

  9. Simple sentence: made of only 1 independent clause • Compound sentence: made of 2 or more independent clauses, joined correctly • Use a comma AND a CONJUNCTION!!
