Chapter 12 Respect for Creation
Respect for creation is the ability to see all created things as good in themselves and as having basic needs that must be met. Jesus grew up with the Jewish biblical tradition that all of creation is good and belongs to God and the human beings are called to be stewards of creation. The Sabbath laws allowed for humans, other animals, and the land itself to rest regularly. In the biblical view, ecological justice defines the relationship between humans ans creation.
