Demerit Point system • Rationale: • Keep student leaders in check • As role models to the student population, chairmen should adhere to basic rules • Reward the good guys • Punish the bad guys
offences • Truancy - from school and for morning meetings • Late for school and for morning meetings w/o valid reasons • Hair of inappropriate length • Use of vulgar or unacceptable language • Defiance against teachers • Not wearing name tag and/or badge (improper attire) • Playing ball games in class • Bullying • Arson • Vandalism • Threatening to harm others • Any forms of gambling, smoking, alcohol etc. • **Standard school rules apply as well.
Other offences • Not adhering to any one of the school rules • Not wearing tie - as long as you are within school, please have your ties on. • Not wearing tie pin • Not wearing CMC badge • Late for meetings without valid reason • Skip meetings without valid reason • Not locking the class door when nobody is in
Guidelines • Minor offences constitutes 1 demerit point • i.e. Late coming, • Improper attire: No tie pin/ badge; Shirt tuck out; • Not locking the door • Skipping meetings without a valid reason • Serious offences constitutes 3 demerit points • i.e. Truancy, gambling, bullying, cheating, committing arson, etc.
punishments • General Guideline • 7 demerit points – Counselling • 13 demerit points – Dismissal • *Punishments may vary from case to case.
School ownership program (SOP) • All student leaders are encouraged to take part in the SOP • As such, everyone has been scheduled to maintain the cleanliness of ONE of these 6 locations once a week, till the end of the year: • D&T Toilet • Level 4 Toilet • Grandstand Toilet • St John's Toilet • Track • Pond outside D&T Toilet
What you need to do: • Duty would last for 30 – 45 minutes (varies) • You will be working with SLs from other boards. • Duties would start 15 minutes after dismissal. Please be at the allocated location early.
JOB Scope • 1) Toilets: • - Mop the floor if area is dirty (eg. Muddy) • - Obtain cleaning materials from respective cleaners. • 2) Track • - Make sure the track is clear of litter • (rubbish or dead leaves) • - Sand is cleared from the running area • 3) Pond outside D&T toilet • - Clear the pond of litter and dead leaves.
