  2. Area, Production and Average Yield of field crop in sikkim (report 2012-2013)

  3. Quality Seed • More area expansion of improved & High Yielding Varieties of cereals, pulses and oilseeds. • Timely sowing and proper crop rotation. • Organic seed production and Certification. • Adoption of latest technology for higher grain yield e.g.. SRI.

  4. Better selection of agro-nutrients • Supplement of balance nutrient management(NPK and micronutrient) • Promotion of local initiatives in preparation of various organic nutrients ,biofertilizers and their proper application in soil. • Organic seed treatment for pest and disease management.

  5. Water use efficiency • Conservation of rain water, run off and stream water conservation. • Providing irrigation during Rabi season • Installation of water storage structures e.g G-nap tank and permanent structure.

  6. Soil Improvement • Soil conservation, soil texture improvement and efficient use of water. • Soil sample testing and distribution of Soil Health Card to farmers for timely application of available technology. • Apllication of liming material for improvement of acidic soil.

  7. Human resource development • Mass Training Programmes and exposure visit of the field functionaries and farmers for adoption of right technology. • Dissemination of latest and improved technology through print and electronic media.

  8. Research and development • Enhancing the traditional use of knowledge and technology in Organic Farming System • Release of prolific Varieties and nutrients application research trails and scientific experiments. • Organic Certification process covering over 50,000 ha area by 2015 through service provider.

  9. Equipments and farm mechanization • Selection of Farm Mechanization suitable for hilly areas • Distribution of gender friendly equipments. • Distribution of mini power tillers for terraced farming.
