What evidence does he use to bolster his case? (268+/205+) • Is Sam’s father a good speaker? What sort of information does he use to support his claim? (263+/202+) • Chip’s evidence: • 7-10 million Americans hunt for pleasure • Animals feel pain • No sign of food shortage in the Powhatan Swamp • Stu Sanders’ evidence: • Keep animals from starving • Avoid killing females,, fawns, & cubs • Hunt for food • Hunting ensures healthier animals(overpopulation → disease, lack of space)

Do you think Sam feels guilty? Should she feel badly? • Why does Sam go back to see Mrs. Howell one last time? Is the new information she gets useful in getting Buddy Bailey arrested? • Why does Chip leave? Is Sam heartbroken? • How is the murderer finally apprehended? Do you think Buddy Bailey should “get life … (or) worse”?
