Implementation of Online Reconstruction via G4MICE Application for Data Visualization

The online reconstruction will utilize the G4MICE application, taking a subset of data from the DAQ without interrupting data acquisition. Feedback has been gathered concerning requirements for online reconstruction, which includes a variety of 1D and 2D plots for different analytical parameters such as TOF versus measured momentum, TOF versus CKOV response, XY distributions, and beam line parameters. Paul Kyberd and Akram Khan are developing a ROOT-based system to compare histograms generated from online reconstruction with reference histograms, including a GUI to facilitate the comparison process and flag discrepancies.

  1. Online Reconstruction • The online reconstruction will be a G4MICE Application that will take a subset of the data from the DAQ (it will not interfere with the data taking operation). • I’ve received a number of replies to my request for requirements for the online reconstruction and these can be summarised as requests for 1D and 2D plots of various lower and higher level quantities, e.g.: • TOF vs measured momentum • TOF vs CKOV response • X, Y, X’, Y’ distributions from the tracker(s) • Beam line parameters • Beam profiles in the TOF detectors. • etc... 2. Shift Checks • Paul Kyberd and Akram Khan have started work on a ROOT based system that will take the histograms generated by the online reconstruction (and possibly also the online monitoring) and compare them with reference histograms. • A GUI will be provided that will allow the person on shift to select each of the histograms and compare them with the reference histograms. • This GUI will also do some level of checking and flag the histograms that are not close to the reference.
