Vain: To no avail, unsuccessful. • Luke 8:12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. • Romans 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?" Not in vain

  3. 1 Thessalonians 2:1 For you yourselves know, brethren, that our coming to you was not in vain. • Why??? Not in vain

  4. With much power 1:5 • Boldly in much conflict 2:2 • With the correct motivation 2:3-6 • With the right disposition 2:7-12 • With long term care 2:17-3:10 • With prayer 3:11-13; 1:2-3; 5:23-25 The manner in which it was preached
