Transitioning IGOS to GEO: A Decade of Global Observational Advancements
This symposium reviews the significant progress of the Integrated Global Observing Strategy (IGOS) as it transitions into the Global Earth Observation (GEO) framework. It highlights key milestones from 2006 to 2008, showcasing the evolution of partnerships, resolutions, and successful thematic transitions. Participants will celebrate past achievements and discuss future directions to enhance decision-making through improved observational capabilities. The symposium aims to foster collaboration among former IGOS partners, GEOSS task leaders, and stakeholders to address current science challenges and societal benefits.
