  1. Do Now • Fill out the question on your Do Now slip and put it in the basket at the front of the room • When you finish, copy and answer the question below on p. 144 What did you choose as the most important issue facing young people and why?

  2. Today’s Objectives • On what issues would you be interested in doing a PAR project? • What do PAR projects actually look like? • What are some more differences between PAR and traditional research?

  4. Word Cloud Reaction – p. 144 • Which of the responses from this class seems to be the most popular? • Do you agree with that choice? Why or why not? Copy and Answer

  5. Poster Activity • Travel around the room to each of the three posters • Issues in your neighborhood • City-wide issues in Boston • Issues involving Charlestown High School • On each of the posters, use a marker to write down at least one issue that you would like to see changed or addressed • You can also respond to the comments left by other students • When you finish, return to your table

  6. PAR Project Examination • With the people you are sitting with, flip through the sample PAR project that is on your table • One student at each table will act as the recorder • Write down all of the questions you have about the PAR project on a piece of scrap paper • At the end each person at the table will addtheir name to the sheet • You will hand it in at the end of the period
