The importance of home ground to the winning cause of the Detroit Lions In the field of sports, the importance of home ground refers to the phenomenon in which the sports teams experience the competitive edge by playing at their home ground. Home team advantage has been in existence since ancient times. Home team advantage emerges from a broad range of factors that includes many psychological factors. Moreover, many sports persons are of the opinion that the team which plays in front of its home crowd enjoys the support and they are charged up to perform. Furthermore, the favorable ground conditions also play a significant role in the winning cause for the team. In this context, it is interesting to mention that the Detroit Lions are an American football team who competes in the National Football League.  The home ground of the Detroit Lions is Ford Field that is situated in downtown Detroit.
