Text Features Matching Game. Cut out the puzzle pieces and either clip together or put in small bag. There should be one set for each group. The students will match the text features to the correct meaning. Teacher will call on groups to share text features and the correct matching meaning.

There should be one set for each group. • The students will match the text features to the correct meaning. • Teacher will call on groups to share text features and the correct matching meaning. • Review text features as needed before beginning lesson.

  3. captions words or sentences that tell about the pictures headings a phrase or title to introduce a part of the text

  4. bold or italic print shows important words in the text shows important information or data in an organized way tables/charts

  5. index list of topics in alphabetical order and their page numbers dictionary in the back of the book with the important words and their meanings. glossary
