Abilities and responsibilities • Make sure that the whole line of design in the job is up to date with the latest trends and is current. • Research of fashion trends • Networking with other people like designers and editors. • Helping sales people understand trends and help offer advice and consultations • Design fashion plans and concepts • Visit manufacturers, fashion shows-seek to be current • Evaluate clothing lines, coordinate with sales people, and share insight and advice with buyers to create the appropriate inventory for the company • In charge of selecting garments for advertising, running photo shoots, magazine events, marketing, advertising, and selecting garments for such.

  4. Abilities and personal qualities • Marketing and advertising skills • Dedication to climbing to the position of coordinator • Social skills to build networks in the field • Knowledge of fashion trend forecasting • Sociable • Organized • Hard working • Innovative Eager to learn and teach

Education and salary • Bachelor’s degree but some positions can be fulfilled with associates degree in fashion merchandising/marketing • A lot of what a coordinator position requires comes from experience and the connections with people in the industry like designers • This is an upper level position so the most important factor is experience in fashion Salary varies on the size of the company and ranges from $40,000-$100,000 Smaller companies like boutiques range in $40,000-$60,000 Big design houses and firms in the higher $100,000 range Experience, location, and educational background are factors that affect the salary for s fashion coordinator
