Please send a letter indicating your interest, which job you are applying for, and a brief summary of your experience to: FHCA, Attn: President, 100 Clifford Campbell St., Fitzroy Harbour ON K0A 1X0. Recommended minimum ages are 12 for canteen duty and 14 for outside work and the day camp. Thanks for the help! Men’s Fastball League seeks players The Fitzroy Harbour Men’s Fastball League is a recreational league open to all skill levels. Games are once a week from May to August on Wednesdays at the Community Centre. New players welcome – please contact Brendan Coker at 613-229-6838 to register or for more information. Fitzroy Adult Soccer Registration The Fitzroy Harbour Soccer Club is starting its 25th season of offering adult recreational soccer to West Carleton and surrounding areas. For 2011 the club will have 7 adult teams in the Ottawa Carleton Soccer League. This includes a Women’s Recreational team, 3 Men’s Recreational teams, 2 Old-timer teams (+35) and for the first time, a Masters team (+50). Although some of the teams are fully subscribed, there still remain many openings for players wishing to participate. In particular the club is seeking players for its Division 4 Men’s recreational team that plays its games on Tuesdays and for both the Old-timer and Masters teams that will play on Friday evenings. The Masters team may be of particular interest to those that have played in the past but found competing against 35 year olds overly challenging. To be eligible for this team, players must have turned 50 prior to Jan 1st 2011. Women’s and Men’s recreational divisions have no age restriction other than having turned 18 prior to the start of the year. The club continues to play all its home games at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre, which boasts one of the best playing surfaces in the city. Away games can be played anywhere in the region depending on the composition of the division in which the team plays. Membership has no residency restrictions; in fact last season’s teams were comprised of players from across Ottawa’s west end and also included players from both Lanark and Renfrew counties. Regardless of previous playing experience the club will welcome all new members. Membership fees remain amongst the lowest in the league. Regular members will pay $170.00 and full-time students $140.00. Old-timer and Masters practices are held Tuesday evenings at the Kinburn Community Centre where all 3 teams practice together. Registration and contacts for more information can be found on the club’s web site, www.fitzroysoccer.com Information from Penny’s Fudge Factory Fudge Factory to be open in April Penny’s Fudge Factory will be open during the weekends of April 9th & 10th and 16th & 17th and 22nd , 23rd & 24th , from 12 noon to 4pm for those days for those wishing to purchase their Easter Fudge Bunnies directly from the Factory.
