This article presents the science highlights and accomplishments of UVIS (Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph) from November 2012 to January 2013, including the explanation of haloes in Saturn's rings and the "Predator-Prey" model for moon-triggered clumping. It also discusses upcoming plans, publications, and presentations.

UVIS: Accomplishments Science Highlights (from this quarter: Nov 2012 – Jan 2013) Haloes in Saturn’s rings can be explained by the same dynamics that creates straw in the strongest density waves. A “Predator-Prey” model of moon-triggered clumping gives higher velocity for collisions, which can remove ring-particle regolith, depositing this brighter material in a “halo” around the wave.
