  1. Righteous people condemn the world by simply being righteous NOAH Unquestioned righteousness Lived by faith – Hebrews 11:7 He condemned the sinful world

  2. HOW DID NOAH CONDEMN THE WORLD? • He preached but no one listened • 2 Peter 2:5 • He worshiped God • Genesis 8:20 • He obeyed God in faith

  3. CONDEMNATION: • IF Noah was right, everyone else was thus wrong! • IF Noah was right in building the ark, everyone who refused to help him build was thus condemned by his faith. • Noah’s faith condemned their unbelief

  4. Imagine their excuses: • “What is a flood Noah?” • “It doesn’t look like rain today, Noah” • “Are you saying you are the only one who is right?” • “We believe in God too, but we don’t believe the way you do – we are still alright.” • “You can’t tell us how to live our lives.” • “Leave us alone. We’re too busy for such nonsense.”

  5. By good example to render the wickedness another more evident and censurable • Abel condemned Cain this way – Genesis 4:3-8; Hebrews 11:4 • Nineveh would condemn the cities where Jesus – Matthew 12:41; Jonah 3:1-10 • The Queen of Sheba would condemn the Jews of Jesus’ day – Matthew 12:42; 1Kings 10:1- 13

  6. Christians in the World Today • 1 Peter 3:1,2 Wives win husbands by good conduct • 1 Corinthians 6:2,3 Christians are examples to the world • Romans 2:27 A Gentile who fulfilled the Law condemned the Jew who did not obey

  7. CONDUCT & MANNER OF LIFE A CONDEMNATION OF DISOBEDIENT & UNFAITHFUL • John 15:18-25 • Still True Today! • People say: “You think you are the only right church.” • “Aren’t you the ones who think you are the only ones going to heaven and everyone else is lost?”

  8. Do not appreciate our faithfulness because: • We don’t drink – they drink • We don’t dance – they dance • We don’t party – they party • We don’t smoke – they smoke • We don’t lie – they lie • We don’t use filthy language – they do

  9. Do not appreciate our faithfulness because: • We are morally pure – they are not • We worship regularly – they don’t • We give as we are prospered – they do not • We study the Bible – they don’t • We have an uncompromising faith – they often compromise • We are honest – they are not

  10. The Result: • They are uncomfortable around you – you are what they ought to be and are not • Your behavior is a condemnation of their lack of obedience or faith – no wonder they don’t like you

  11. How can we endure if the world hates us? • Jesus promises to be with those who follow Him – Matthew 28:20; 1Corinthians 10:13 • We will in no way lose our reward if we remain faithful- Revelation 2:10; 1Thessalonians 4:13-18; Romans 8:31-39; Hebrews 10:34-39

  12. How can we endure if the world hates us? • We know to expect persecution and are prepared for it -2 Timothy 3:12; Matthew 5:11,12 • Philippians 4:13
