Each year, chosen oncologists from the IDEA program in the United States host recipients from international institutions following the ASCO Annual Meeting and commit to developing long-term relationships with young oncologists from the developing world.
Dr. Potti has received Certifications from the Board for Internal Medicine in 1999 and Medical Oncology in 2007. He attended the Divisions of Hematology/Oncology at Duke University, Durham, NC from 2003-2006 to undergo his Fellowship training.
In 1995 Dr. Potti received his Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (M.B.B.S) from the Christian Medical College & Hospital, Vellore, India. Dr. Anil Potti has significant experience as an oncologist and lung cancer specialist by working as a Staff Physician at Multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Clinic, Duke University, Durham, NC.
He is also actively associated with a large number of reputed organizations like Alpha-Omega-Alpha (AOA) Honor Society, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and American Association of Cancer Research (AACR).
In addition to being an ASCO IDEA mentor twice, Dr. Anil Potti has been honored with numerous prestigious awards because of his hard work and dedication.
He has won awards like the Joseph Greenfield Mentoring Award, Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA), Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award – Medical students, Leonard B.Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, Outstanding Teacher Award – Internal Medicine Residents, Robert Silber Research Prize, Lisa Stafford Clinical Research Prize and more.
