  3. What is Cel Animation? • A planning process, animators, assign draft pictures onto sheer sheets of plastic called Cels. • Each Cel emphasizes one painting with an edge on one side of the plastic, and the color is filled in on the opposite. • Although today’s 2D and 3D animation adopt several techniques from Cel Animation, the work is virtually exclusive done on workstations, but digital software is used to speed up the process.

  4. The Cel Animation Process • Celanimation is a lengthy, costly method that requires the involvement of a large team. • The forecast begins with a script and is given to a storyboard creator. • While each Cel is being inked and colored, more designers are active at performance, generating the backgrounds for each scene. • These two processes are performed in order and deliver the final animation.

  5. 1. Substances Used In Cel Animation • Cel animation and the development of substitute are intimately connected. • Without thin layers of flexible, translucent, and colorless plastic, it would have nevermore remained achievable.

  6. Flammable and prone to degeneration with age, it would yellow, crinkle, and expel dangerous gasses in a short period. • The acetate remained much longer than its ancestor but ultimately corrupted. • Due to its chemical composition, it freed an acid vinegar that was generally known as vinegar syndrome.

  7. 2. The Transition To Digital • CAPS was a mutual investment between Pixar and Disney produced to digitize cel animation and lessen the cost of animation without devoting quality. • The system supported artists to digitally burden the animator’s sketches and do the inking and coloring process on a computer.

  8. Animators and studios have particular likings in workflow with amazing fancying to draw designs by hand, while others are abandoning pen and paper uniquely. • These times the only significant use of Cel animation is done by students studying old techniques.
