  8. Mexico has a controversial nuclear energy program as well. The following slides are of the Laguna Verde nuclear plant close to Veracruz, Mexico. Mexico is of course known for earthquakes and vulcanism, two characteristics that would seem to make nuclear power a somewhat risky proposition
