What is Facebook? • Facebook is an online social networking service. Facebook was founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. The founders had initially limited the website's membership to Harvard students, but later expanded it to colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League,and Stanford University. It gradually added support for students at various other universities before it opened to high-school students, and eventually to anyone aged 13 and over. Facebook now allows anyone who claims to be at least 13 years old to become a registered user of the website.
How is Facebook used in business • Many companies uses Facebook for business purposes. • Like they use Facebook to advertise about they’re products. • Promote the products or tell people about it. • Often they have the own little website. This could be a Facebook page fan where they can get feedbacks on. • They uses it to get feedbacks too.
Promoting companies • Most of business people, post a lot on Facebook. Especially if they have a Facebook page. They do that to promote about they’re page, so people will know the have a page to check out. • They tend to post through out the day at least 5-7 times, or within the week and the month. • Also they uses a lot of eye catching images within they’re post or on they’re cover picture. • They promote about the product they are specialised at or what they are best and doing.
Advertising on Facebook: • Many business man, uses videos and picture and animation to advertise about the company and the product the produces. • Catching images are used to catch peoples intention. • Videos are used to show people about the company and the product they are advertising about. • And some people uses animation in place of videos.
Brief website of company • Business mans uses brief mini website to put advertisements, promotion, information for the costumers and staff members • This could be created on Facebook, as a fan page or just business page. • Those website content things like, where the company is situated, what times are they open and what times they closes, information about the company, some of them have the history of that company, and many more.
Feedback • Feedback is when the company gets the customer’s opinion on the product or the company. • The can write about the staffs, how the staffs work, if they working well or not. Give the point of view of the product, is it good or not, useful or just a scrap. And they can say whatever they want about the company. They're opinion is welcome and can help the company to improve. • Company needs this feedback so they know what they are doing right and what they have to improve.
Events • Companies can create events for customers. Such as a competition event, a birthday party event, a visit to somewhere event and more. • This gives the company they chance to get to know the customers and the costumers to get to know the staff.
Conclusion • As we just saw, Facebook can be very useful within the business area. You can do many things on Facebook. Like create a business page, promote your business, advertise it, use it as a brief website, get feedbacks form the customers and create event. • To me the most useful thing about business in Facebook is that, it connects a lots of people in one place. • That could be in the web connectivity or buy creating an event do people can join together in one place. Video chatting as a group is now available in Facebook so that is another useful thing as well. • So that’s how Facebook is used within the business.
