  1. Aum Sri Sai Ram National Seva Plan for 2011

  2. Joy of serving others

  3. Seva- A meaningful contribution “Do not believe that you can by means of service reform or reshape the world. You may or may not. That doesn’t matter. The real value of service, its most visible result, is that it reforms you, reshapes you. Do service as a spiritual discipline: then you will be humble and happy”. - Sathya Sai Baba

  4. Review of Seva activities in 2010 The seva activities performed nationally could be grouped as follows: National Projects 2009, 2010 • Blood Donation • Preserving Mother Nature • Ceiling on Desires

  5. Review of Seva activities in 2010 Other ongoing seva activities • Serving Food. Donate non perishable food • Seva at Old Age Homes • Disaster Relief • Clothing Donation • Wheel chair cleaning • Help the blind in association with CNIB

  6. Blood Donation • CBS: • Donors are the heart of our blood supply system, the lifeline to hundreds of thousands of Canadians who, each year, need blood, blood products or stem cells. Without generous and committed donors, there would be no blood system in Canada. • Canada's blood system is founded on the principle of gratuity. Just as recipients do not pay for the blood products they receive, donors are not paid for the blood or plasma they give. • If you are already a donor, thank you; if not, "it's in you to give."

  21. Seva Plan for 2011 National Seva Projects Other ongoing Projects Serving food, non perishable food donations etc. Seva at Nursing homes and Old age homes Donation of clothing etc. Disaster Relief • Blood Donation • Preserving Mother Nature • COD • Concerted Community Service

  22. Concerted Community Service • Vision: Perform the service activities in a selected community in a City and all the centres in the area together participate in the community service project. Whatever service we do will be in the selected community. It could be some are all of the above stated services. If required we coordinate with the City or local agencies and work with them.

  23. Concerted Community Service • We have seven 6 Regions in Canada. Each Region could select at least one City in the Region and choose a small community in need. We start in a small way and expand as we progress. Assess the need of the community and focus all our seva activities in that community. With this we will have more volunteers and we can possibly do the seva in accordance with a planned schedule. The impact will be known quickly.

  24. Community Services Project • The Regional Coordinator or his nominee could coordinate the above activities working with the City or local agencies. • If any large centre is prepared to do this in a community on its own, it is OK as well.

  25. Concerted Community Service • Some of the service activities many of the centres are performing include: • Feeding the needy people through shelters or on the streets • Collection and donation of no perishable food items to the Food Banks • Environmental Projects such as Tree Planting and Park cleaning • Blood Donation • Help at the Hospitals and Old age homes. • Helping those in need during Christmas by donating clothing, food etc. • Tutoring local needy children for the school work in a community centre • Helping people with vision difficulties through CNIB • Donation of blankets and warm clothing during winter • We have been doing the above in different areas in an isolated manner. The aim of the project being proposed now is as follows:

Concerted Community Service • Help at the Hospitals and Old age homes. • Helping those in need during Christmas by donating clothing, food etc. • Tutoring local needy children for the school work in a community centre • Helping people with vision difficulties through CNIB • Donation of blankets and warm clothing during winter

  27. Concerted Community Service • We have been doing the above in different areas in an isolated manner. The aim of the project is do it in a concerted manner together. • More resources • We can take turns • We can do more frequently • The results and impact will be visible
