CMOS Strip Task Force – WG 2

The CMOS Strip Task Force WG2 convenes to explore key developments since the Christmas break. Discussions focus on the "initial state" where endcap and barrel configurations are balanced. We will address effects of small objects misaligned with the beam line, presenting findings from fast simulation studies comparing performance based on segmentation and material composition. Current work includes determining necessary resolution along sensor strips and evaluating support models. Initial results highlight the implications of material selection on performance. More details will be shared in the upcoming simulation session at the VLC meeting.

Presentation Transcript

  1. CMOS Strip Task Force – WG 2 • No WG2 meeting since Xmas break. • Our “initial state” • Endcap and barrel are “equal” • Effect of small object which do not point to Beam line • Fast simulation study • Performance .vs. segmentation (Z/R) and material • Work already started (material) • Determine required resolution “along” the strip • When sensor understood • New model for local and global supports if needed

  2. Performance .vs. Material First attempt by Nathan Readioff and Helen Hayward. LOI compared to LOI +/- 30% material in strips and/or pixels More details during simulation session in VLC meeting
