  2. Solar system The sun and the eight planets that orbit around the sun .

  3. sun The sun is the center of the solar system . The sun is a ball of gas . The sun contains nearly all of the matter in the solar system.

  4. Mercury Mercury is the closest planet to the sun . It takes 88 days for it to orbit the sun . Even though it is the closest it is not the hottest.

  5. Venus Venus is the hottest planet . It is a gas planet . It is always hot on Venus.

  6. Earth Earth is 97 percent water . It is the only planet with life . It is the only planet with an atmosphere .

  7. Mars Mars is called the red planet . Mars surface is mostly rust . Mars has two moons .

  8. Asteroid Belt It is made of rock . It is between Jupiter and Mars . It is hard to see because it is made of small things.

  9. Jupiter It is the biggest planet . It is the first outer planet. It is a gas giant .

  10. Saturn Saturn has rings . It is a light planet . Named after a roman god .

  11. Uranus Uranus is sideways . It has 21 moons . It is the 7th planet from the sun .

  12. Neptune It has rings . Neptune is a nick name for the god of the sea in Greek . It is the fourth largest planet by diameter .

  13. Moon It reflects the suns light . It orbits the earth . It looks different on different nights .

  14. Axis and Orbits Earths importance in orbit helps us get sunlight . On its axis it gives the seasons . Its orbit makes a year .

  15. Solar and lunar eclipse A solar eclipse is shorter than a lunar eclipse . A lunar eclipse is when the earth is in the middle . A solar eclipse is when the moon is in the middle . They are both start with the sun .

  16. Solar system and galaxy Lots of planets in the galaxy . Only 8 planets in our solar system . Both have planets . Galaxy is much bigger than the solar system . The galaxy has more stars .

  17. Universe The universe is the largest out of the solar system and galaxy . Has more stars and planets . The universe is every thing that exist .

  18. What we learned We learned that the universe is everything that exist . The solar and lunar eclipse has similar qualities . This is what we learned .
