What details tell you this? • Although Gulliver bravely defends himself against gigantic flies, the queen calls him a coward. Why don’t the Brobdingnagians admire Gulliver’s bravery? • Why might Swift have used outlandish physical sizes to illustrate his feelings about his society? • What would you describe Swift’s tone toward the Lilliputians?
