The Oil Pollution Act of 1990 -draft year 1990 by 101st congress -Signed into law by George Bush August 1990. -The Coast Guard Maritime Transportation Act of 2004 amended parts of the Oil Pollution Act by providing exemption liability for passive financial entities who are lessors in vessel lease financing transactions. -national

  2. expand oil spill prevention measures and established new requirements for its transportation, cleanups, and response capabilities of the federal gov (provides money etc). • Amends Clean Water Act and the Federal Water Pollution Control Act. Established US Cost Guard responses to oil spills, fines for oil spills etc.

  3. NPFC formed to enforce OPA.
