  2. I was born in Oriente Cuba in 1942 • I came to the united states at the age of 15

  3. I received my master’s degree in business administration from the New York University Graduate School of Business • I was a professor of finance at the University of Illinois at Chicago. • I was also an assistant and associate professor of business administration at Harvard Business School.

  4. I am an author of numerous books and articles on international finance • I am a member of the board of directors of several corporations.

  5. I hold degrees from the University of Puerto Rico. • I graduated from the university of Puerto Rico

  6. I was also an assistant and associate professor of business administration at Harvard Business School

  7. in 1969 I became the first female hired to teach at the Harvard Business School • Then I became a professor of international finance at the University of Illinois.

  8. I was confirmed by the us senate as one of the five directors of the ex-im bank, an independent agency whose purpose is to improve U.S. trade with other countries.

  9. For over sixteen years, I was a full time member of the Board of Directors of the Export and Import Bank of the United States. • I served as an International Finance Consultant from March 1999 to September 2002
