Planning Considerations • Arlene • Dennis • Katrina • Ophelia • Rita Focus response efforts on: South Florida – Rita South Florida - Katrina Panhandle - Sheltering Task Force Florida – Mississippi Keep the emergency worker safe. Emergency workers must go through “check-in.” Anticipate - What resources will likely be needed.

  32. ESF 6 – Mass Care • Current Operations • Sheltering • There are 1301 people in 12 shelters in 3 counties. This includes 3 Special Needs Shelters housing 104 patients. • The Salvation Army has 5 canteens on standby. each canteen can prepare 1,00 to 2,000 meals per day. No TSA kitchens are available and are not expected to be needed. • ARC has yet to announce their service capacity and yesterday's meal count is 2,984 • Unmet Needs • None at this time • Future Operations • Preparing to provide resource support for TSA and ARC operations as needed. ESF 8 – Health & Medical • Current Operations • Special Needs Shelters • As of the 9/20 1600, there is one Open SpNS Shelter with a total of 75 Clients&Caregivers, and 16 SpNS Clients in ARC Shelters • Health Care Facilities • Successfully evacuated 256 patients from health care facilities in the Keys • Outpatient dialysis patients are currently being treated (e.g. renal diet and medications) under an Emergency Disaster Plan.

ESF 8 – Health & Medical • Current Operations (cont) • Additional Activities • Activated: 7 Regional Emergency Response Advisors (RERAs) for response and recovery activities • Staged: 2 Disaster Medical Assistance Teams (DMATs) (FL 6 and VA 1) as of 1800 on September 19; 35 personnel + equipment. • Rostered and On Stand-by: Florida Emergency Mortuary Operations Response (FEMORS), if needed • Finalizing Keys Reentry Plan with ESF8 Partners • Bringing Resources Back into the Keys • Standing up the Health and Medical Infrastructure • Readmission of Clients into Health Care Facilities
