A guide by Josue Reyes Run Fast, Run Smart
Head and Neck • Look Forward while running, make sure head and neck are aligned • Avoid looking down at the ground or your feet • This not only affects your posture it can also cause you to bump into other people or things
Relax Shoulders • Keep your shoulders relaxed and keep them low. • If you start to feel tension drop them and shake your arms out to relieve tension. • Make sure not to be raising your shoulders when you are running.
Arms • Make sure your arms are not swinging across your chest. • They should be moving back to forth the same direction your legs are moving. • Relax your arms and do not clench your hands.
Standing • Stand tall as you run, keeping your core engaged and have good posture • Avoid slouching your back • The balls of your feet should be hitting the pavement first • Roll forward onto your toes and keep your stride steady
