  2. LORD OF THE FLIES QUIZ #3 In second part of Chapter Four, Ralph, Piggy, Simon and Maurice are hanging out by the beach while Jack and his choir boys are hunting for pigs. During this time, something happens that greatly upsets Ralph, causing Ralph to confront Jack in front of everyone. In 2-3 sentences, describe what has happened that has caused Ralph to become so upset. Make sure to give enough detail so that I know you read

  3. ENGLISH IIMAY 2nd Warm-up: Thus far in our novel, three different types of leaders have emerged in the book– Ralph, Jack and Piggy. The three are very distinct ways of persuading the other boys on the island. • State whether each of the three leaders rules by ethos, pathos, or logos. • Piggy rules by…, 2. Jack rules by…, 3. Ralph rules by.. • Then, give textual evidence to support how we know that at least ONE of these boys rules by either ethos, pathos, or logos. Explain what this evidence shows.

  4. REMINDERS • Late April work is due tomorrow (check I.C.) • News update! (You’re welcome ) • Period 2: you only need 8 total symbolism and 8 total point of view journals for Lord of the Flies. (Instead of 12 of each…) • Period 4 and 6: You only need 4 total symbolism and 4 total point of view journals for Lord of the Flies(instead of 6 of each) • Write that down on your handout!

  8. COOL-DOWN Cool-down: We are starting to see a major difference between the bigger children on the island and the littluns’. Think about the characteristics of the littlun’s and the bigguns’. Then answer: Who in your life is a littlun and why? Who would you consider to be a Roger? A Ralph? A Piggy? A Jack? Pick two of the above mentioned characters and mention how two people in your life remind you of these characters (at least 2-4 sentences describing each). Answer in complete sentences (rephrase the question in your answer).
