  3. Why Somali Program Why we have7 years old Somali radio show. • There was a need for a radio show • Good opportunity and strongsupported • And the Manpower

  4. Stages that the show went through • Starting point (May 2005) • Sunday 11am-12 noon. 10-11pm. 8-9pm • 2008-2010 • 2010-2012

  5. Achievements • Managed to become a community radio (Source for and from Somali Edmontonians) • Over 15 Somali youth and young adults • 2010 Cultural diversity award winner • We put Somali Edmonton on the map

  6. Short Term goals • To serve our community an acceptable level • Become a reliable source • Present additional programs via our website • Host 10 remote programs per year • Invite well known and respected Somali individuals from globe

  7. Long Term/Ultimate Goals • Highest quality service for the community • Become the number source • Informing and Educating the community through out the year • Hosting countless remote programs • Daily online programs • Most importantly; passing well organized and strong community owned media organization
